OK5 – Connection as a purpose 

When everything starts to fall into place

Have you ever experienced a shared flow state? First the group is lost and stagnant. Then something happens, and everyone starts to pull together.

With herd animals, flow is the norm. Think of a group of dolphins approaching a pod of sardines. Dolphins only thrive together. Similarly, sardines protect themselves through dazzling cooperation.

The same is true in team sports. Finland became an ice hockey champion, even when the competitors had better players. The decisive factor was a deep sense of connection. 

The same occurs in organisations, but not always. When it does, there is a collective spark, a feeling of belonging, a sense of meaning, a synchronisation of minds. It all starts to come magically together. Everyone excels, ideas flow, and difficulties are overcome.

Is this possible for everyone? We know it is.

This experience of of the power of connection brought us together and launched OK5. We want to help organisations experience the dolphin miracle.

Similar things happen in companies and all kinds of organisations, if they are going to happen. Somewhere there is a common spark, a sense of belonging, an experience of meaning, a synchronisation of the brain. It all starts to come together as if by magic. Everyone gives their best, ideas flow, difficulties are overcome, the upward momentum goes on and on.

Is it possible for everyone? We know it is.

This idea drew us together, and OK5 was born. We have each experienced the power of connection. We want to help businesses experience the dolphin miracle.

It started with a vision

Ilona Rauhala had a vision of easy access to psychological knowledge. When she started to digitalise elements of coaching she was joined by Ira Lange. In 2022, Kimmo Kääriä and Iikka Virkkunen joined the team with valuable technological and commercial experience.

A calling

OK5 set out to help organisations implement a coaching style of leadership to better manage psychological capital: emotional atmosphere, collective self-efficacy, psychological safety, and resilience.

OK5 helps organisations to make their learning agile and effective. We combine digital content, learning platforms, artificial intelligence, and face-to-face coaching. For individuals, teams and the whole organisation.

Sparked by successful conversation

OK5 stands for the five elements of a successful conversation. The model was first presented in a book about the power of convesation: "Keskustelun Voima" (Otava 2020). The model has been tested in numerous organisations and coacing programmes.

Anyone and everyone can add quality to all of their encounters - short talks in the hallway or demanding goal-oriented specific conversations.
